Scholarship Program:
The STEM Scholarship Program employs traditional and non-traditional program activities. It provides financial support through a scholarship, but also provides support through (1) a Parental Academy to advance the student’s education through parent/family engagement; (2) a monthly STEM Student Interest Groups (S-SIG) meeting which will provide co-curricular activities for networking, professional development, academic and career-guidance, and social interaction; (3) a Mentoring Network, which includes mentoring by NSM faculty, Academic Advising Center staff, and peer mentoring; and (4) a Research Placement Assistance Program to place scholars in research/teaching positions. The program will leverage existing University academic support programs and services to promote student success in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
